HOMEWORK: I will do my best to update this page daily! I also ask the students to write down their homework in their planners every day. They are expected to get an initial from their parents daily on their planner to show they are being responsible with keeping track of assignments. This skill of tracking assignments is an invaluable time management and organizational skill. As they get into higher grades this habit will help them keep on top of all their different classes and assignments.

I'll still give time to the ones who haven't finished but it will no longer take our whole group class time.

Monday 11/7
Math: We are now moving into using our knowledge of multiples in order to complete long division problems. It is ESSENTIAL that students know their multiplication facts by heart. Tonight I'd like everyone to practice their multiplication facts for at least 15 minutes. You may use the online math games on my website. You can also create flash cards and drill/practice these. Focus on the numbers that are hard for you.
Spelling: Our spelling pattern this week is "suffixes". Do at least 5 minutes on spelling city or use the list below to quiz words with a partner.

Math: They did so well today with learning how to use their multiplication facts to help them solve division problems!
Some of them wanted to take home the multiplication table I gave out in class today. They can keep this at home, I'll have a new copy for them tomorrow for school. They can also use this to practice their multiplication facts. (you can also download it below).
Math Homework tonight: Do the worksheet I handed out in class today (or download below). Do all ten problems.
Spelling: Our spelling pattern this week is "suffixes". Do at least 5 minutes on spelling city or use the list below to quiz words with a partner.

Math: I gave them all a very large math packet tonight. Not to worry, I don't expect it all to be done by tomorrow. I'm asking that they do just one page tonight. The rest of the packet is optional, but they can receive bonus scholar tickets for each page they complete. Long division needs A LOT of practice for it to feel comfortable. Please ask them to do at least one page tonight, the rest of the packet can be done anytime before unit 4 test (end of next week).
Spelling: Do a practice test tonight and ask them correct any mistakes so they'll be ready for their spelling test tomorrow.
